Laura Capper is president of CAP Resources, a Houston-based technology consultancy which specializes in market assessment, strategy development for emerging market opportunities, technology commercialization, operations planning, due diligence / transaction support services, and fund-raising and aggressive growth strategies.

Ms. Capper brings 25 years of experience in managing technology commercialization and aggressive growth strategies for public and private companies including integrated oil and gas companies, oilfield service companies, technology transfer offices, and private equity and venture capital firms. Over the last 20 years, CAP Resources has serviced over 500 clients and contributed to the development of over $3 Billion in value associated with new venture launches and support for mergers, acquisitions and investment activity.

Beginning in 2007, a primary focus of the firm has been matters related to domestic and international unconventional exploration and production trends and practices, and its impacts on upstream and midstream markets. The company has released a series of private-label reports on the state of industry in various high profile sectors- from exploration technologies to subsurface, wellhead and surface equipment, advances in drilling and completions, and mid-stream transportation, gathering stations, and pipeline activity.

The firm’s areas of expertise include all aspects of comprehensive water management and treatment technologies, mobile field data collection and guidance systems, and environmental and waste handling practices in the oilfield, among other areas of specialization. CAP Resources has authored a series of in-depth reports tracking the state of Water Management and investment opportunities in U.S. and World unconventional shale plays beginning in 2007, with the most recent report series currently being marketed by IHS and available for purchase.

Prior to founding CAP Resources, Ms. Capper oversaw business development for Advanced Micro Devices in the San Francisco region, ran North American Sales for Landmark Graphics, now a Halliburton company, and held management roles at four venture capital backed emerging energy technology companies. Ms. Capper holds a BS in electrical engineering from Rice University. She is President of CAP Resources and Knomatic, an early stage mobile technology firm, and is a Director of World Energy Systems, Pate Environ mental Ventures, and Millar Inc. Previous affiliations include Director of e-Realty and Wallis State Bank. Ms. Capper sits on the Advisory Boards of Bank of Texas, the Houston Technology Center and the Rice Alliance for Technology Entrepreneurship.
