As executive director of the YWCA of Houston, Booker- Brooks will oversee an organization that serves more than 1500 meals a day to seniors, homebound and congregate. The YWCA of Houston also operates a residential program for girls who have aged out of foster care and a drop in child care center located on the campus of Houston Community College Southeast.

“It’s an honor to serve as the YWCA of Houston’s Executive Director—the work of this organization is needed more now than ever. The services we provide are critical to improving the quality of life for seniors by providing food security, housing for young women and affordable daycare,” Booker Brooks said.

Allison Booker-Brooks was born in Houston, Texas and is a licensed social worker. She received a Masters degree from Our Lady of the Lake University and Bachelors from Sam Houston State University. Allison started her career as an investigator with Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Service. Allison has more than twenty years of experience working in non profits and social service organizations such as Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Texas Youth Commission, The Women’s Home and The United Way of Greater Houston. Allison Booker-Brooks is married to Mathews Brooks.
