A synergistic and trendsetting marketer, Kimberly Floyd continually works to engage readers and advertisers while empowering women and mentoring the next generation of leaders in her role as Vice President of Talafery Media Group, Inc., the parent company of D-MARS Business Journal, Community Journal and Health & Wellness Journal. Floyd directs operations for D-MARS and executes the company’s signature events including the Top 50 Black Professionals and Entrepreneurs Awards, Top 25 Prime Contractors & Supplier Diversity Champions Awards, Top 50 Black Health, Medical and Wellness Professionals Awards and Top 30 Influential Women of Houston Awards.

A native of Natchez, Mississippi, Floyd attended Texas Woman’s University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and continued on to receive a Master of Business Administration in Management from the University of Dallas.

Previously, Floyd worked at Allstate Insurance Company as a senior financial analyst and continued her career at Transamerica Real Estate Tax Service in Business Development. She then transitioned into the media world and for more than 12 years managed advertising, event promotions and marketing campaigns for Atlanta-based Steed Media Group, Inc. and The Steed Society (501c3) in the Dallas and Houston markets. Floyd executed several of the company’s key initiatives for The Steed Society including the Junior Youth Initiative Mentoring Program, which mentored high school juniors and seniors on such topics as leadership, financial literacy, etiquette and social media.

Floyd has received numerous awards for her work and community service including: City of Dallas Special Recognition, City of Houston Special Recognition, Who’s Who in Black Houston honoree and the Texas Women’s Empowerment Foundation’s Woman of Empowerment. Floyd is also a committed board member of Motivate and Empower Women to Excel (ME &WE), Young Adults of America and the Houston Chapter of the American Heart Association’s African American Leadership Circle.
