Janel Caminos is a striving young HR professional. She currently works as the HR Specialist at Shriners Hospital for Children- Houston, located in the Texas Medical Center. In her role, she oversees recruitment, on-boarding and new hire orientation. Janel has been with Shriners since January 2015. Prior to switching to the healthcare industry Janel worked in oil and gas.

Janel graduated in May 2013 from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management. While attending Texas State, Janel served as a Residential Assistant for two years, was an active member of the Hispanic Business Student Association (HSBA) and Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Janel is also the founder of Texas State University’s Ritmo Latino Dance Company.

In her personal time, Janel focuses on pursuing her passion for dance. Janel is the 2016 Miss Puerto of the Houston Caribbean Pageant and her platform is to bring awareness of the Latin dance culture to under privileged kids who are not exposed to art education. Janel received a reward for her leadership role in the community during her pageant journey.
