Dr. Carolyn Clansy Miller, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in psychotherapy and evaluation for children, adolescents and adults. She has particular interest in women’s issues, trauma, marital therapy and treatment of depression, anxiety, fear and stress and anger management.

Dr. Miller has a strong background in pastoral care ministries as she served as the Senior Director of Education and Pastoral Care Lakewood Church, a congregation of 47,000 members in Houston, Texas. She also utilized her counseling and ministry skills on her radio program “Getting Good at Life” and was guest speaker on several other radio and television shows in the Houston area.

Dr. Miller obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at the University of Houston and her Masters of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology at Texas Southern University. She completed her education at St. Louis University where she obtained her Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Miller continued in academia and served as adjunct faculty at the University of Houston, Houston Baptist University and the West Africa Theological Seminary in Lagos, Nigeria.

Dr. Miller has worked in the private sector since 2000. She is the owner of Ashar Counseling and Psychological Services located in Houston, Texas and St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
