Mayerland Harris, Group VP of HR for H-E-B, is a dynam-ic, influential leader and team builder with over 30 years of retail experience in Human Resources and store oper-ations – more than 25 of those years with H-E-B. She leads an impressive team of HR professionals including Field HR Managers, Recruiters, Training & Development Managers and Organizational Talent Managers. She provides human resources leadership for the Houston Food & Drug, Central Market, Smart Shop and Mi Tienda Divisions of H-E-B.

She develops the strategic direction to ensure alignment with key business initiatives. Her leadership team is accountable for implementation of policies and programs including em-ployment, employee relations, benefits, compensation, training, and employee assistance.

Mayerland received her BBA from University of Texas at Austin and her MBA from Texas A&M University. She is currently on the boards of The Girl Scouts of America and Collabora-tive for Children. Mayerland was named a Breakaway Leader in 2012 by the Evanta Leader-ship Network, and she was ranked #13 on ExecRank’s 2012 Top HR Executive Rankings. In 2015, she proudly accepted the “Most Powerful and Influential Women of Texas” award from the National Diversity Council.
