Anne M ClearyAnne M. Cleary is a senior executive with over 30 years of extensive management and technical experience, providing leadership throughout major business events and an extensive track record of commercializing assets and P&L creation.

Her proven business track record includes leading all aspects of the integration of two Fortune 500 company M&A transactions, successful development and commercialization of large capital power projects and serving as the business unit president for over 6,000 MW of generation. Her experience spans business unit P&L, M&A, business development, engineering, capital expenditure analysis, business strategy development and execution, risk management, regulatory, federal and state legislative affairs, line and engineering operations, environmental compliance and human resources.

Board of director experience includes major governance and human resource roles on industry boards, including serving as Chair. Currently Anne is an electric industry consultant, advising on the technical integration, commercialization and regulation of energy storage and renewables. In addition to being a principal in her own firm, Anne is a Senior Advisor in the Taffrail Group (www.taffrailgroup.com), an international strategic-advisory firm. From 1999 to 2014, Anne worked for NRG, a Fortune 500 Company (and predecessor companies GenOn and Mirant), last serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Integration Officer. In this capacity, Anne led all aspects of the integration of NRG’s acquisition of GenOn Energy, creating one of the largest power generation and retail electricity companies in the U.S. with over 46,000 MW of power generation and over 2 million retail customers. Anne’s team completed integration ahead of schedule, exceeded all established goals for earnings and cash flow, delivered over $480 million of annual free cash flow benefits and positioned NRG to more easily integrate future acquisitions. Earlier, Anne served in a variety of leadership roles in all aspects of operations. As the Senior Vice President of Asset Management, she was responsible for new business development Anne M Cleary Houston, TX opportunities and M&A for power plant and other electric infrastructure.

She was instrumental in the permitting, construction and commercialization of a $750 million, 760 MW peaking facility in California, creating annual EBITDA of over $100 million. As Business Unit President of the Western and Midwestern business units, she was responsible for the operation and commercialization of 6,000 MW of power generation, management of over 500 employees, including union personnel, and annual P&L of over $250 million. As Senior Vice President of Administration, Anne managed all corporate functions, including human resources, corporate communications, facilities management and facility security. In this role she oversaw pension asset management and all human resource and compliance matters for a 3,000 person workforce. Anne also served as the Chief Risk Officer and was responsible for assessing, monitoring and enhancing the controls of the various risks inherent in its trading and asset management activities. She was also the Vice President of U.S. Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, where she was responsible for the opening of the Washington, D.C. office and leading the development of all company legislative and regulatory positions at the federal and state level. From 1983 until 2000, Anne held positions of increased engineering and business responsibilities with various subsidiaries of the Southern Company, where she rose to Vice President of U.S. Business Development.
