Her 43-year old, $69 MM company is ranked as Texas’ Largest Employee-Owned Staffing and Placement Firm by NCEO, and 10th Top 100 Women-Owned Business by DiversityBusiness.com, as well as Houston’s 5th Largest Women-Owned Business, Largest Direct Hire Placement Firm and 3rd Largest Temporary Staffing Firm by the Houston Business Journal. Burnett Specialists was awarded the Pinnacle Award by the Better Business Bureau Houston for the third time.

Sue’s companies’ services include: direct hire and temp-to-hire placements, temporary staffing, and payrolling services with skill specializations including accounting, admin/clerical, convention support, engineering, human resources, IT legal, light industrial, manufacturing, management supply chain, sales/marketing, Teleskills and call center.

Sue’s honors include: Texas Business Woman of the Year by the Texas Women’s Chamber of Commerce, Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, NAWBO’s Women Business Owner of the Year and Community Service Award, WBEA’s Women Business Entrepreneur of the Year, Women’s Enterprise’s Women of Excellence, Jr. Achievement’s Legacy Award, Goodwill Industries’ Shining Star Award, and Inspire Women’s Business Woman of the Year. The University of Arkansas named Sue as a Distinguished Alum and named the Reading Room in the Journalism Building in her honor. Sue and her husband, Rusty, are donating money for the new Sue Walk Burnett Journalism and Media Center at the University of Arkansas, which will be constructed in 2018.
